# Nova 2 Lite now available on Vercel AI Gateway

The Amazon model handles text, images, and video through the AI SDK, with reasoning effort configurable and billed even when redacted.

Amazon's Nova 2 Lite is now available through [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>)'s [AI Gateway](<https://vercel.com/ai-gateway/leaderboards>), with no separate Amazon provider account required. It's a reasoning model built for everyday workloads that can take text, images, and video as input and generate text.

Developers set the model to **amazon/nova-2-lite** in the AI SDK to use it. Extended thinking is off by default; enabling it means setting *maxReasoningEffort* (low, medium, or high) in providerOptions. Reasoning content is redacted in the output, but tokens spent on it are still billed.
