# Node.js Vercel Functions now support fetch web handlers

By Steven Van · 2025-08-19

Node.js-based Vercel Functions can now export a single fetch handler instead of separate HTTP method exports.

[Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>) Functions running on the Node.js runtime now support fetch web handlers, matching the format used by other JavaScript runtimes and frameworks: an exported object with a fetch(request) method that returns a Response. Individual HTTP method exports are still supported for those who prefer them. Details are in the [announcement](<https://vercel.com/changelog/node-js-vercel-functions-now-support-fetch-web-handlers>).
