# New GitHub App permissions for Actions and Workflows

By Steven Van · 2026-03-17

Vercel's GitHub App now requests Actions and Workflows access so Vercel Agent can diagnose CI failures and v0 can set up CI/CD.

The [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>) GitHub App now asks for two extra repository permissions on install: Actions (read) and Workflows (read and write). The change supports two features:

- Vercel Agent can read workflow run logs to help diagnose CI failures and can configure CI workflow files directly.

- v0 can create complete, production-ready repositories with CI/CD pipelines already configured.

To use either feature, existing installs need to accept the updated permissions in their GitHub organization or account settings. [Read the full announcement](<https://vercel.com/changelog/vercel-github-app-updated-permissions>) for details on all permissions the app requests.
