# More Secure Deployment Protection

New Vercel projects now get Standard Protection on all auto-generated domains, including the production git branch URL.

[Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>)'s Standard Protection setting now covers more ground by default. For new projects, it protects all automatically generated domains, including the production branch git domain (for example project-git-main.vercel.app), which was previously left open. Existing projects can switch to this behaviour from the Deployment Protection page in their project settings.

Standard Protection still leaves custom production domains unprotected; it's available on every plan and can be paired with Vercel Authentication, Passport, Password Protection, or Trusted IPs. Read more in the [announcement](<https://vercel.com/changelog/more-secure-deployment-protection>).
