# Microfrontends support is now in Public Beta

By Steven Van · 2025-08-06

The beta lets teams build and test microfrontends independently while Vercel handles assembly, routing, prefetching, and prerendering between them.

[Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>) now supports microfrontends in public beta, letting teams split a large application into smaller ones that can be built and tested independently while Vercel assembles and routes them into a single experience.

Vercel says this reduces build times, supports parallel development, and enables gradual migration off legacy applications. The Vercel Toolbar lets developers iterate and test each microfrontend on its own, and navigation between microfrontends benefits from prefetching and prerendering for faster transitions.

To get started, teams create a microfrontends group in the Vercel dashboard containing all their microfrontend projects, add the @vercel/microfrontends package to each application, and add a microfrontends.json configuration file to the default app, testing in Preview before deploying to Production. See the full [announcement](<https://vercel.com/contact/sales>) for setup details.
