# MCP Events support in Vercel Connect is now in public beta

By Steven Van · 2026-10-15

Vercel Connect can now create, renew and verify webhook subscriptions to MCP servers for apps and agents, in public beta on all plans.

MCP Events support in [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>) Connect is now in public beta, as described in the [Connect documentation](<https://vercel.com/docs/connect/quickstart>). It lets apps and agents subscribe to webhook events from compatible MCP servers. Suggested uses include summarizing new messages, reviewing newly created issues, or responding to document feedback.

## How subscriptions work

Connect creates subscriptions on the MCP server and renews them automatically as needed. It verifies the server's webhooks and forwards events to the application using authenticated delivery.

In the Connect SDK, the experimental\_subscribe function from @vercel/connect/mcp creates a subscription. The example in the release note requests a 24-hour subscription to issue.created events for a project, with an app subject, a delivery path of /hooks and an idempotency key. The key should be new for each subscription and reused when retrying the same request.

## Verifying deliveries

At the delivery endpoint, experimental\_verifyMcpEvent checks that each request came from Connect before the endpoint acknowledges it. The example is a Next.js route handler that verifies the request and returns a 204 response.

## Agent tools

AI SDK event discovery and subscription APIs can be exposed as agent tools through Connect's MCP Events adapter, which manages the subscriptions. In eve, enabling events on an MCP connection gives agents tools to discover the server's events and to create, inspect or stop subscriptions through Connect.

The quickstart covers SDK setup and authentication. It says Vercel Connect is available on all plans.
