# Manually purge the CDN cache

By Steven Van · 2025-06-24

Members can purge Vercel's global CDN cache in milliseconds via the dashboard or CLI 44.2.0+, without waiting for a new deployment.

Members can now purge [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>)'s CDN cache manually, from the project's cache settings dashboard or by running vercel cache purge --type=cdn in CLI version 44.2.0 or later. Previously the CDN cache only cleared automatically with each new deployment. The manual option refreshes cached content in milliseconds without waiting for a new build, which helps with persistent cache scenarios like Image Optimization, where paths stay cached across deployments: if an upstream image has changed, a manual purge forces an instant refresh. See the [documentation](<https://vercel.com/docs/edge-cache#manually-purging-edge-cache>) for details.
