# iMessage support for eve agents

By Steven Van · 2026-08-05

eve agents can now connect to iMessage through the new Photon channel.

[Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>)'s eve agents can now handle iMessage conversations through a new Photon channel, announced in an [update to Vercel's changelog](<https://vercel.com/changelog/imessage-support-for-eve-agents>). The channel keeps each iMessage thread in a single eve session, verifies incoming webhooks, and marks accepted messages as read. Messages that arrive while the agent is still replying steer the in-progress reply rather than triggering separate answers, and an onMessage hook can filter which messages the agent handles and add context to a turn.

Running **eve add channel/photon-imessage** sets up a Photon project, registers a phone number, and scaffolds the channel. eve uses Vercel Connect to create the connector and configure Photon's webhook; on hosts without Connect support, choosing "Use portable credentials" during setup lets the channel read credentials from environment variables instead.
