# Fluid compute now supports ISR background and on-demand revalidation

Fluid compute's cost and performance model now extends to ISR's background and on-demand revalidation with no config changes.

Fluid compute now covers Incremental Static Regeneration, with both background and on-demand revalidation getting the same performance and concurrency handling as other [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>) functions. No configuration changes are needed: projects that have redeployed recently are already running on it.

Fluid works by reusing existing resources before spinning up new ones, which Vercel says cuts compute costs by up to 85% for high-concurrency workloads. For ISR specifically, that means revalidation runs benefit from the same optimized concurrency, scale-to-zero, reduced cold starts, and usage-based pricing as Fluid's other supported workloads, including background tasks via waitUntil.
