# Experimental native binaries for Vercel CLI

By Steven Van · 2026-05-27

Vercel's opt-in native CLI binary skips the Node.js dependency and adds code signing and macOS Keychain-scoped credentials.

The [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>) CLI now has an optional experimental native binary, opt-in via a separate package. It starts faster than the standard CLI and drops the Node.js runtime dependency entirely.

- Binaries are code-signed, so the OS can verify they came from Vercel and haven't been modified.

- On macOS, credentials are stored in the system Keychain scoped to the binary, so other processes can't read them without explicit permission.

- Install with pnpm i -g @vercel/vc-native -f; the -f flag is required because the package uses the same global vercel and vc bin names as the standard CLI.

- Once installed, vercel and vc run the native binary across macOS, Linux, and Windows on both x64 and arm64.
