# Expanded Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) for Enterprise teams

By Steven Van · 2025-10-10

Vercel Enterprise teams can now assign multiple roles per user, add a Security role, and layer six extended permissions onto existing roles.

[Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>)'s Role-Based Access Control system now supports assigning multiple roles to a single user within Enterprise teams, and adds a set of [extended permissions](<https://vercel.com/docs/rbac/access-roles/extended-permissions>) that layer on top of existing team and project roles for finer-grained control.

- A new **Security** team role is dedicated to managing security and compliance settings.

- Access Groups now support team roles and extended permissions in Directory Sync mappings.

- **Create Project**: create new projects.

- **Full Production Deployment**: deploy, rollback, and promote to production.

- **Usage Viewer**: view usage, prices, and invoices (read-only).

- **Integration Manager**: install and manage integrations and storage.

- **Environment Manager**: create and manage project environments.

- **Environment Variable Manager**: create and manage environment variables.

Extended permissions only take effect when paired with a compatible team role.
