# Deployments now show build cache size

By Steven Van · 2026-10-23

Build cache size and its limit now appear in deployment summaries, the CLI and the REST API on all plans, for deployments built from October 21.

Deployment summaries in [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>) now show how large the build cache is that each deployment saved, and how close that is to the limit for its build machine. The [changelog entry](<https://vercel.com/changelog/deployments-now-show-build-cache-size>) says the maximum build cache size for each build machine is listed in the docs.

## Where to find it

- The deployment summary in the dashboard.

- The CLI, using vercel inspect on version 65.1.0 or newer.

- The get-deployment REST API endpoint.

## Why the size matters

Uploading the build cache is billable build time. A cache that goes over the limit is discarded, so the next build starts without one.

## Availability

The display is on by default on all plans, for deployments built on or after October 21.
