# Deployment integration actions for Marketplace integrations

By Steven Van · 2025-02-19

Marketplace integration providers can now run tasks like database branching and readiness checks, and deployments wait for them to finish.

Marketplace integration providers can now register actions that run during a [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>) deployment, such as database branching, environment variable overrides and readiness checks. The [deployment integration actions](<https://vercel.com/docs/integrations/create-integration/deployment-integration-action>) docs cover the setup.

When a project with a connected Marketplace integration has actions configured, a deployment pauses and waits for all of them to complete successfully. The aim is to make sure the deployed resources are set up before the deployment proceeds. Users also see suggestions inside the integration about which actions are available and should be run.

For providers, the flow works through webhooks. Vercel sends deployment.integration.action.start when a deployment starts an action, and deployment.integration.action.cancel if the deployment is canceled. The provider does the resource-side work, then reports the result through the Update Deployment Integration Action REST API endpoint.
