# Deploy steps are now up to 21% faster

Deploy steps average 17% faster, cutting up to 2.8 seconds for projects with many functions.

The deploy step, the phase where [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>) uploads static assets, provisions and uploads Vercel Functions, processes routing metadata, and prepares a deployment to receive traffic, is now 17% faster on average, cutting total time to go live by 1.67 seconds. Projects with many functions see bigger gains, up to 2.8 seconds saved on average. Vercel attributes the improvement to reduced idle time and increased concurrency across those operations.
