# Data downloaded by Vercel Sandbox is now free

By Steven Van · 2026-07-17

Inbound port traffic and outbound requests still count toward usage, and Active CPU, memory, storage and creation pricing stay the same.

[Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>) Sandbox no longer bills for data it downloads from the internet. Installing packages, cloning a Git repository, or pulling artifacts and datasets from an external source no longer counts toward [Sandbox Data Transfer](<https://vercel.com/docs/sandbox>) usage.

Traffic received on a Sandbox's exposed ports is still billable, as is outbound traffic the Sandbox sends to the internet. Pricing for Active CPU, Provisioned Memory, Snapshot Storage, and Sandbox Creations is unchanged.
