# Configure weighted traffic splits for Vercel Flags from the Vercel CLI

By Steven Van · 2026-05-21

Vercel's CLI gets a \`flags split\` command to send a set percentage of traffic to one flag variant and the rest to another.

The [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>) CLI now supports weighted traffic splits for Vercel Flags with a new vercel flags split command. It sends a set percentage of traffic to one variant and the rest to another, so a flag can be gradually exposed to only part of an audience rather than switched on or off for everyone.

The command can be run interactively, or non-interactively by passing the environment, a bucketing attribute, and the variant weights as flags, for example splitting traffic 95/5 between the "off" and "on" variants of a flag for production users bucketed by user.id. It requires an [updated version](<https://vercel.com/changelog/configure-weighted-traffic-splits-for-vercel-flags-from-the-vercel-cli>) of the Vercel CLI.
