# Commits to the same branch now build with no queues

By Steven Van · 2025-10-14

On-Demand Concurrent Builds, available on Pro and Enterprise plans for owners, removes the queue for commits to the same branch.

[Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>) builds used to queue by branch: a new commit had to wait for the previous build on that branch to finish before it could start. With **On-Demand Concurrent Builds** enabled, that queue is gone and commits to the same branch now start building as soon as they arrive.

The feature is available on **Pro** and **Enterprise** plans, and only accounts with the owner role can turn it on. It's enabled by default with full concurrency, though it can also be set at the project level to allow just one active build per branch instead. Pro plans get up to 500 concurrent deployments with on-demand concurrency (three when it's off) and are billed for the build minutes used; Enterprise gets custom concurrency limits. See the [on-demand concurrent builds documentation](<https://vercel.com/docs/builds/managing-builds#on-demand-concurrent-builds>) for setup details.
