Cline has joined the harness layer in [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>)'s AI SDK, which lets developers run established coding-agent runtimes through one unified HarnessAgent interface and switch between them without changing application code. The new adapter, **@ai-sdk/harness-cline**, was built in collaboration with the Cline team.

Cline runs fully in the host process and uses the sandbox only as a remote filesystem and shell, so no bridge process is installed inside the sandbox, the same approach used for the existing Pi harness. The full list of supported harnesses is now Claude Code, Cline, Codex, Deep Agents, Grok Build, OpenCode, and Pi, with more [planned](<https://vercel.com/changelog/cline-harness-adapter>).
