# Chat SDK adds Dial support

By Steven Van · 2026-07-08

Dial's new adapter lets Chat SDK bots answer SMS, MMS, iMessage, and inbound voice transcripts on a real phone number.

[Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>)'s Chat SDK now has a vendor-built adapter for Dial, letting a bot built on the framework send and receive messages over a real phone number alongside its existing Slack, Teams, or Discord channels.

- Handles inbound SMS, MMS, and iMessage, including media, plus transcripts of inbound voice calls

- Sends replies back through the same standard Chat SDK thread and message APIs used by other adapters

- Verifies webhooks with HMAC and keeps each phone conversation as a stable, separate thread

Each phone conversation becomes its own Chat SDK thread: texts and media land as messages on that thread, and a finished voice call's transcript appears there too. Subscriptions, handlers, posts, and per-thread state work the same as with any other adapter. Read the [Dial documentation](<https://docs.getdial.ai/integrations/agent-clients/vercel-chat-sdk>) to get started.
