# Chat SDK adds AgentPhone support

By Steven Van · 2026-06-01

Chat SDK bots can now get a phone number and handle calls and texts through one webhook and thread via a new AgentPhone adapter.

Chat SDK, part of [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>), now supports AgentPhone through a new vendor-official adapter. Bots get their own phone number and can handle voice calls and text messages using the same handlers already written for chat.

When a call ends, the transcript is delivered as a message, so the bot can reply via SMS or iMessage. Calls and messages to the same number arrive through a single webhook, handled from one endpoint instead of separate pipelines per channel, and land in a single thread so the bot keeps context throughout the conversation. Details are in the [changelog entry](<https://vercel.com/changelog/chat-sdk-adds-agentphone-support>).
