# Builds now start up to 30% faster

By Steven Van · 2025-09-16

A parallel worker pool for cache downloads cuts build init time 30% and up to 7 seconds off builds on every plan.

Vercel now downloads the build cache in parallel using a worker pool, rather than sequentially. That cuts build initialization time by an average of 30%, shaving up to seven seconds off build times. It's enabled automatically for all new builds, on every plan, and builds on earlier build initialization improvements [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>) had already shipped.

No configuration is needed: the change applies automatically to builds that restore a cache from a previous build. Read the [full announcement](<https://vercel.com/docs/deployments/builds>) for more on how build caching works.
