# Bot Protection is now generally available

By Steven Van · 2025-06-05

Bot Protection moves to general availability on Vercel's Web Application Firewall for all users at no extra cost.

Vercel's Bot Protection managed ruleset is now generally available to all users on the [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>) Web Application Firewall, at no extra cost. It reduces automated traffic from non-browser sources and can either log identified bot traffic without blocking it, or serve a browser challenge to non-browser traffic while automatically excluding verified bots.

During its beta period, Bot Protection challenged over 650 million potential non-browser requests. It sits alongside Vercel's existing mitigations against DDoS attacks, low quality traffic, and spoofed traffic, adding a layer of protection for automated traffic that isn't clearly malicious. Bot owners can get their bot verified at bots.fyi.
