# Basic build machines are now available on Pro and Enterprise

By Steven Van · 2026-09-03

Pro and Enterprise teams can now select Basic build machines.

Basic build machines, previously exclusive to Hobby accounts, are now available to **Pro** and **Enterprise** teams on [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>). They offer 2 vCPUs and 8 GB of memory, a cheaper option for smaller apps or agents that don't need much to build. New Pro and Enterprise projects still default to Elastic build machines, which scale automatically and remain the recommendation for most use cases.

To switch, update the build machine setting in team settings, project settings, or via Vercel CLI 59.6.0 or later with vc project update --build-machine basic. Basic build machines are billed at $0.0035 per vCPU per minute, working out to $0.007 per build minute, the same rate Hobby accounts already pay.
