# Automated DNS configuration with Domain Connect

By Steven Van · 2025-02-14

Cloudflare-managed domains can be set up in one click when added to a Vercel project, with more DNS providers to follow.

Vercel now supports Domain Connect, an open standard for DNS configuration, so a domain can be set up with one click instead of copying DNS records by hand. [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>) says this saves time and reduces errors. Cloudflare-managed domains are supported first, with more providers coming soon.

When you add a new domain to a project, Vercel detects whether the domain qualifies for Domain Connect setup. It then offers to proceed automatically or let you configure the domain manually.

Vercel is also implementing Domain Connect as a DNS provider, which would let external services configure Vercel Domains the same way. The details are in the [Vercel domains documentation](<https://vercel.com/docs/projects/domains>).
