# Add cache tags from Function responses, regardless of framework

By Steven Van · 2025-12-12

Vercel's addCacheTag function tags Function responses for later invalidation via dashboard, CLI, or API, on any framework and plan.

Vercel Functions can now attach cache tags directly to a response by calling addCacheTag from the @vercel/functions package, without needing a specific framework. Once a cached response carries a tag, the cache can later be invalidated from the dashboard, Settings, the Vercel CLI, the Function API, or the REST API. This is available on all plans and all frameworks, on the [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>) platform.
