# Seedance vs Kling: Which to Use for Ads and Short Films

By Steven Van · 2026-10-01

Seedance 2.5 leads on 30-second clips, reference files and 11 dialogue languages, while Kling 3.0 offers native 4K and a lower 1080p API price.

A comparison of Seedance and Kling covers which to pick for ads and short films, based on published ByteDance, BytePlus and Kling information checked on 1 October 2026. [Synthesys](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/synthesys>) discloses that it makes a competing AI video tool, and that its Studio runs Seedance but not Kling's video models. It has not yet run its own side-by-side test. Read the [full comparison](<https://synthesys.io/blog/seedance-vs-kling/>) for the complete table.

## Which models are compared

The post compares what can be used today, not the older Seedance 2.0 versus Kling 3.0 pairing.

- Seedance 2.0 launched in February 2026, with cheaper Fast and Mini versions on BytePlus.

- Seedance 2.5 launched on 31 July 2026 for clips up to 30 seconds, and its API is live on BytePlus ModelArk.

- Kling 3.0 and 3.0 Omni were fully rolled out on 31 January 2026. Native 4K arrived on 23 April and 3.0 Turbo on 17 June.

- Kling 4.0 is due to launch officially in October. Kling 4.0 Flash opened early to Ultra yearly subscribers on 28 September.

## Where Seedance comes out ahead

Seedance 2.5 makes clips of 4 to 30 seconds, while Seedance 2.0 and Kling 3.0 stop at 15. Kling 4.0 lists 3 to 30 seconds but is not fully launched.

Seedance 2.5 takes up to 50 reference files per run (30 images, 10 videos, 10 audio clips). Kling 4.0 takes up to 15, plus 10 keyframes. For dialogue, Seedance 2.5 lists 11 languages, including Arabic, Thai, Indonesian and Vietnamese. The post's summary also says Seedance scores higher than Kling 3.0 in public blind votes.

## Where Kling comes out ahead

Kling 3.0 has made native 4K since April, priced at $0.42 a second on the API. Seedance 2.5 tops out at 1080p, though in 10-bit colour, and Seedance 2.0 reaches 4K through the API at an estimated $0.78 a second. Kling 3.0 also lets users set length, framing and camera for each shot in one run.

Kling 3.0 lists five dialogue languages plus accents, and Kling 4.0 adds Portuguese, German, French and Hindi. At 1080p, Kling's API costs $0.14 to $0.168 a second, against about $0.37 for Seedance 2.0 and about $0.57 for Seedance 2.5. At 720p, Seedance 2.0 Mini is cheapest at about $0.08 a second.

## Access and caveats

- BytePlus API access needs an account balance over $30 or a prepaid pack, and is not available in the US.

- Kling's API prepaid packs start at $700 for 5,000 units, valid 180 days, and do not cover 4.0 yet. Kling has not published 4.0 API prices.

- Dreamina offers a free option, with plans from $15 a month list. Kling's app has a free Basic plan, then Standard at $8.80 a month on monthly billing.

- BytePlus prices for Seedance are its own estimates for clips without video input, since it bills by tokens.
