# Suno adds MIDI export and a lyric co-writer

The recap also covers advanced stem separation, screenshot-to-song, and CarPlay/Android Auto support.

Suno posted a recap of what it has shipped recently across web and mobile, and it doubles as a good checkpoint for how fast the platform has been moving: better stem separation, MIDI export, a lyric co-writer, screenshot-to-song, and in-car support via CarPlay and Android Auto.

## Advanced stem separation, and stems as MIDI

Suno already overhauled stem separation in June, moving from isolating frequencies to regenerating each stem from scratch for cleaner, artifact-free splits. The advanced separation in this round pushes that further, and pairing it with **MIDI export** is the bigger unlock for producers: pull a song's drums, bass, or melody out as an editable MIDI file instead of just an audio stem, then rebuild the arrangement with your own instruments and plugins in a DAW.

## A lyric co-writer that remembers what you wrote

The **Lyric Co-Writer** ships alongside autosave, which matches what Suno rolled out on web on July 9: a full-screen lyrics editor with natural-language editing and a way to save your own writing style. Together they turn lyric writing into an ongoing draft instead of a single-shot generation, closer to writing in a real editor than prompting a model once and hoping.

## Screenshot to Song and CarPlay, recapped

**Screenshot to Song**, which turns any image or block of text into a song with lyrics, has been live since April. **Apple CarPlay and Android Auto** support landed in May, letting you stream your library and control playback from the car. Their inclusion here signals Suno treating this as a running highlight reel of the app's full feature set, not only what shipped this week.

## Why the pace matters

Individually, none of these is a headline feature. Together they describe a tool that has quietly become closer to a full production surface: generate a song, pull it apart into stems and MIDI, rewrite the lyrics with a real editor, and listen to the result on your commute. For anyone treating Suno as a sketch tool rather than a finishing tool, the stem-plus-MIDI combination is the one worth testing first.
