# Sidekick suggestions now use web search

By Steven Van · 2026-10-28

Sidekick combines store data with public web information to suggest actions, which appear on the Shopify admin home when available.

Sidekick can now use web search when it researches opportunities for a store. [Shopify](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/shopify>) says Sidekick combines the store's own context with public web information to suggest actions, giving it more market and industry context to work from, according to the [changelog entry](<https://changelog.shopify.com/posts/get-sidekick-recommendations-with-market-and-industry-context>).

## Where suggestions appear

Suggestions show up on Shopify's admin home when they are available for the store. The changelog files the change under Admin and points to the Shopify Help Center for more on Sidekick suggestions (Pulse).
