# Category metafields are now available in Analytics

Category attributes like color, material and fit can now group and filter sales reports in Reports, Explore and the query editor, with no setup.

Product category attributes such as color, material and fit now appear in [Shopify](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/shopify>) Analytics as dimensions and filters, alongside custom metafields. Before this, [those attributes stayed on the product page](<https://changelog.shopify.com/posts/category-metafields-are-now-available-in-analytics>), and seeing which materials or colors sold meant exporting data.

Nothing needs to be turned on. If products are already categorized, the attributes they use are there. In Reports, Explore and the query editor, a sales report can be grouped by Color, Material, Fit, Fabric, Size, Activity or any other category metafield, or filtered to one value such as organic cotton or a particular color.

How products are categorized has not changed, and custom metafields work as before. When a product has more than one value for an attribute, Analytics keeps those values together on one row, so sales are not counted twice.
