# Add your own notes to Shopify Analytics

By Steven Van · 2026-10-01

Annotations on time-series reports are shared with staff who have Reports permission and sit alongside context from Shopify and installed apps.

Shopify Analytics now supports annotations on supported time-series reports, so notes about what happened can sit beside the data. The [Shopify](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/shopify>) [changelog entry](<https://changelog.shopify.com/posts/add-your-own-notes-to-shopify-analytics>) gives examples such as a campaign launch, creator mention, supplier change, promotion or operational improvement.

From the annotations panel, you can:

- Add a title, description, date or date range, and annotation type

- Use auto-detected annotation categories or choose your own

- Edit, delete, and see who created each annotation

- Search and filter context from your team, installed apps, and Shopify

Annotations are shared with staff who have Reports permission. They appear alongside context from Shopify and installed apps.
