# Screen Studio 4.1 automatically hides faces and sensitive data

By Steven Van · 2026-10-22

The update hides emails, phone numbers, card numbers, API keys and faces in recordings, locally on your Mac, and adds ProRes export.

[Screen Studio](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/screen-studio>) released version 4.1 on October 22. Its headline features cover up private details in your screen recordings before you share them.

Hide sensitive data automatically covers emails, phone numbers, card numbers and API keys. Hide faces does the same for faces in a recording. Both run locally on your Mac, so your footage is not uploaded anywhere to be scanned.

The release also adds ProRes export for higher-quality editing workflows and makes MP4 exports up to three times faster. Full details are in Screen Studio’s changelog.
