# Updated: Topography

The Topography background is now a 3D contour-line landscape with cursor lift, click pulses, optional survey markers and glitches, and a light mode.

The [React Bits](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/resources/react-bits>) Topography background has been [rebuilt](<https://reactbits.dev/backgrounds/topography>) as a 3D landscape drawn in glowing contour lines. It rises from a flat map, and the land lifts under the cursor.

## What the new version does

- Contour lines form a 3D landscape that rises from a flat map.

- The terrain lifts under the cursor.

- Clicking sends light pulses across the landscape.

- Survey markers and glitches are optional.

- A light mode is included.

## Installing it

Topography comes in JavaScript or TypeScript, with plain CSS or Tailwind. The TypeScript and Tailwind version installs with npx shadcn@latest add @react-bits/Topography-TS-TW.
