# Updated: Side Rays

The rebuilt React Bits background adds presets, side origins, drifting dust and a light mode, in JavaScript or TypeScript with CSS or Tailwind.

Side Rays, the light-shaft background in [React Bits](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/resources/react-bits>), has been [rebuilt](<https://reactbits.dev/backgrounds/side-rays>). The shafts of light fan in from a corner or side, shimmer slowly and lean toward the cursor.

## What's new

- Presets

- Side origins, so the rays can start from a side as well as a corner

- Drifting dust

- A light mode

## Installing it

The component is available in JavaScript or TypeScript, with plain CSS or Tailwind. The TypeScript and Tailwind version installs with npx shadcn@latest add @react-bits/SideRays-TS-TW.
