# Updated: Scroll Velocity

By Steven Van · 2026-10-13

Scroll Velocity rows can now be grabbed and thrown with inertia, lean with scroll speed, and alternate with outlined text.

Scroll Velocity, the text marquee in [React Bits](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/resources/react-bits>), has been [updated](<https://reactbits.dev/text-animations/scroll-velocity>) with new ways to interact with its rows of text.

## Motion and interaction

Rows can lean and stretch in response to scroll speed. They can also be grabbed and thrown, and they keep moving with inertia after release.

## Styling

Rows can alternate with outlined text. The text size, weight, color and spacing can be set directly.

## Installing

The component comes in JavaScript or TypeScript, with plain CSS or Tailwind. For the TypeScript and Tailwind version, the install command is npx shadcn@latest add @react-bits/ScrollVelocity-TS-TW.
