By Steven Van · 2026-10-12

The React Bits background gains drift, shimmer, glow, an accent color, a blast intro, cursor lighting, new shapes and a perspective floor.

Pixel Blast, the dithered pixel-cloud background in [React Bits](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/resources/react-bits>), has been [updated](<https://reactbits.dev/backgrounds/pixel-blast>). The clouds look the same but render more smoothly and softly, and the component now runs much faster with no dependencies.

## What's new

- Pixels drift, shimmer and glow.

- An accent color can be set.

- A blast intro plays when the background loads.

- A cursor that lights pixels up as it moves over them.

- New shapes and a perspective floor.

## Installation

The component is available in JavaScript or TypeScript, with plain CSS or Tailwind. The TypeScript and Tailwind version installs with npx shadcn@latest add @react-bits/PixelBlast-TS-TW.
