# Updated: Grid Scan

By Steven Van · 2026-10-12

The rebuilt React Bits background adds a glossy floor and click pings, and it ships in JavaScript or TypeScript with plain CSS or Tailwind.

React Bits has rebuilt Grid Scan, its 3D grid background, as a lit room. It has crisp lines, a glossy floor and sparkling scan points, and it needs no extra dependencies.

## How it behaves

The view shifts like a window as you move, and a click sends a ping across the walls. The component is described as a 3D grid room swept by a scanning light that follows your view.

## Using it

Grid Scan is listed on the [React Bits](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/resources/react-bits>) site under Backgrounds, and the [announcement page](<https://reactbits.dev/backgrounds/grid-scan>) has the install options. You can pick JavaScript or TypeScript, and plain CSS or Tailwind. The shadcn command for the TypeScript and Tailwind version is:

npx shadcn@latest add @react-bits/GridScan-TS-TW
