# Updated: Dither

The retro dithered-waves background gets new patterns, palettes, cursor trails and click ripples, and no longer needs extra dependencies.

The [React Bits](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/resources/react-bits>) Dither background has been [rebuilt](<https://reactbits.dev/backgrounds/dither>) on the same waves, now with crisp pixels and no extra dependencies.

## What's new

- New dither patterns: the component's page lists Bayer, halftone, line and noise.

- Retro palettes.

- Cursor trails and click ripples.

- An intro that sharpens into place.

## Installing it

The component can be added in JavaScript or TypeScript, with plain CSS or Tailwind. The TypeScript and Tailwind version installs with npx shadcn@latest add @react-bits/Dither-TS-TW. The interactive preview, customization controls and source tabs on the page need JavaScript enabled.
