# Raycast iOS keyboard is now a full primary keyboard

By Steven Van · 2026-10-29

Swipe typing and autocorrect now sit with AI commands and snippets, though the announcement lists no price and English is the only typing language.

On October 29, 2026, [Raycast](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/apps/raycast>) introduced an all-new primary keyboard for iPhone and iPad, so you can type without switching keyboards. The product page still describes a custom keyboard for dictation, AI commands, Quicklinks, and snippets.

## What's new

You slide across the letters to type a word, and autocorrect fixes a misspelling when you type a space or punctuation. Slide to Type and Auto-Correction can each be turned off.

One tap above the keys reaches Quick Fix, Ask AI, an AI Command, dictation, a Snippet, a GIF, or emoji search. Quick Fix rewrites spelling and grammar in place. A keyword expands a Snippet, and a Quicklink inserts its link. Emoji search shows local matches first, then AI matches.

The five themes are Default, Clear, Physical, Mechanical, and one named iOS 5.

## How it works

If you already used the Raycast keyboard, it switches to this full keyboard on its own. Turn it on under Keyboards and allow Full Access. Typing, emoji, Snippets, Quicklinks, and Search work without Full Access. Quick Fix, Ask AI, AI Commands, dictation, GIF search, and a new Snippet need it, because only Full Access can reach the network and the Raycast app.

Drag Raycast above English and delete English. Password fields and some apps still show the system keyboard. English is the only typing language for now, with more languages coming. Secondary mode keeps your other keyboard and drops the letter keys. The first dictation opens the Raycast app to record, and you swipe back if iOS does not return you.

## Availability

The post and the keyboard manual describe it as ready to set up. Raycast for iOS requires iOS 18. The newest iOS changelog release is still v1.4.0 from October 12, 2026, and it does not mention this keyboard. The announcement lists no price and does not say whether Pro is required.
