# Added paired\_item\_id to the Item object, available through /item/get and /user/items/get

By Steven Van · 2026-10-27

Items from hybrid Link sessions, or with Plaid Check products added, now expose their counterpart Item's ID through /item/get and /user/items/get.

Plaid added a paired\_item\_id field to the Item object, returned by /item/get and /user/items/get. The change was listed in the [Plaid changelog](<https://plaid.com/docs/changelog#october-27-2026>) under Plaid Check Consumer Report.

## What the field identifies

For Items created through a hybrid Link session, or by adding Plaid Check products to an existing Plaid Inc. Item, paired\_item\_id identifies the corresponding Plaid Inc. or Plaid Check Item. In other words, each Item in the pair points to the other.

## When it is present

The field is omitted for Items that have no paired Item.
