# xhigh preset output budget raised to 512,000 tokens

The Agent API preset now allows 512,000 output tokens, and frozen configurations need max\_output\_tokens updated to match.

The Perplexity Agent API's xhigh preset now allows up to 512,000 output tokens, up from 128,000.

Anyone running a frozen configuration should update max\_output\_tokens to keep matching the preset.

## Correction on search type

The same changelog entry also corrects an earlier note. xhigh has used Fast Search since the October update that moved the low, medium and high presets to Fast Search, and the entry now lists xhigh alongside them.
