# Perplexity's Agent API adds Claude Sonnet 5.5

Claude Sonnet 5.5 costs $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, and Anthropic requests must set max\_output\_tokens.

The Agent API in [Perplexity](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/perplexity>) now supports Claude Sonnet 5.5, [listed in the Agent API Models reference](<https://docs.perplexity.ai/docs/agent-api/models>) under the model ID anthropic/claude-sonnet-5-5.

Perplexity lists it at **$2.00 per million input tokens** and **$10.00 per million output tokens**, with cache reads at $0.20 per million. It uses default processing only, with no optional service tiers.

Requests to any anthropic/\* model must include max\_output\_tokens. If it is left out, the API returns HTTP 400.
