# TheraPlatform Reviews: What Therapists Actually Say

By Steven Van · 2026-10-01

Oasys, which sells a rival EHR, summarizes TheraPlatform's ratings, pricing and fit, and says the virtual share of sessions decides it.

TheraPlatform reviews divide on one question: how much care a practice delivers over video. In a post on the [Oasys Health](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/resources/oasys-health>) blog, [a review roundup of TheraPlatform](<https://oasys.health/blog/theraplatform-reviews>), the vendor says mostly virtual practices rate it highly because its session tooling was built for telehealth. Mostly in-person practices tend to pay for depth they rarely open. Oasys makes a competing EHR and says the closing section of the post is an advertisement.

## Ratings and pricing

TheraPlatform holds 4.4 out of 5 on Capterra across 79 reviews, with 4.4 for ease of use and 4.2 for customer service. ChoosingTherapy's hands-on review gives it 4 out of 5.

- **Basic:** $39 a month for a single provider, with no additional seats.

- **Pro:** $69 a month plus $39 per additional provider.

- **Pro Plus:** $79 a month plus $49 per additional provider.

Every tier includes unlimited clients and telehealth sessions, and there is a 30-day trial with no card required. Per-use fees are $0.25 per electronic claim, $0.10 per coverage check, $30 per provider for AI notes and $15 per provider for the Wiley Treatment Planner. Oasys verified these figures on 1 October 2026 and advises confirming them before signing.

## What reviewers praise

- Telehealth designed in from the start rather than added in 2020.

- Live session tools such as whiteboards, games and therapy-specific activities, useful for play therapy, pediatric work and speech.

- Scheduling, notes, billing and video in one product, with tutorial videos.

- A $39 entry price with telehealth included.

- Support for speech, occupational and physical therapy workflows alongside mental health.

## What reviewers criticize

- ChoosingTherapy calls it "not as technically polished as some competitors", with a "somewhat unintuitive design". Capterra reviewers describe calendar and availability setup as tedious, with no drag-and-drop rescheduling.

- There is no dedicated mobile app, only browser access.

- There is no e-prescribing, so a practice with a psychiatric prescriber needs a second system.

- Some reviewers report inconsistent insurance automation and claim rejections, and per-claim and per-check fees add up at volume.

- Support is mostly email, and some reviewers describe waiting days on a technical issue.

- It suits solo and small groups, and practices with layered supervision and admin structures outgrow it.

## The deciding question

Oasys suggests looking at the share of sessions that are virtual. Above roughly 70 percent, the session tooling earns its place. Below about 30 percent, a practice is buying capability it will rarely use. In between, the post recommends testing with two clinicians for a fortnight. It lists TheraPlatform as a good fit for mostly virtual, child-focused, multi-discipline, solo or small-group practices, and a poor fit for mostly in-person practices, those needing e-prescribing or a real mobile app, and those past roughly fifteen clinicians.

## Where Oasys comes in

The post says that past fifteen clinicians, practices in this category run into the same limits regardless of vendor: supervision rules that ignore credential status, coarse permissions, and no payroll modeling. It describes one mid-sized group practice spending about 20 hours a week of a billing manager's time converting EHR data into a payroll ledger. Oasys lists its own EHR at $80 per clinician per month with no add-ons, and says it models supervision per role, has role-based permissions and produces a revenue-split payroll ledger. It also advises asking any vendor how data would be exported in three years, since assessments, intake forms and future appointments are most often left behind.
