# Warnings from notion-update-page

By Steven Van · 2026-10-07

Direct and queued page updates now report when input was changed or ignored, including indentation errors and auto-corrected text.

Clients updating pages through [Notion](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/notion>) MCP can now see when part of their input was changed or ignored. The notion-update-page tool returns an optional warnings array for both direct and queued updates.

## What triggers a warning

Warnings cover cases such as lines dropped because of incorrect indentation or text auto-corrected to match the page. Each warning includes a code and a message. Markdown parser warnings also include category and autofix fields.

## How warnings appear

Each message is limited to 500 characters. Longer messages are cut and end with a note stating their original length. A clean update has no warnings key, as described in the [Supported tools documentation](<https://developers.notion.com/guides/mcp/mcp-supported-tools>).
