# Session URL shorthand for Custom Agent session tools

By Steven Van · 2026-09-10

Notion MCP's session tools now resolve short session:// and thread:// URLs against the connected workspace instead of requiring the full form.

[Notion](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/notion>) MCP's [Custom Agent session tools](<https://developers.notion.com/page/changelog#september-10-2026>) now accept a shorthand for session URLs: session://sessionId or thread://sessionId, both resolved against the connected workspace. The full session://spaceId/sessionId form that the tools return still works, and a full URL naming a different workspace still returns an HTTP 400 validation error.
