# Rich text in data source queries

By Steven Van · 2026-09-02

The notion-query-data-sources MCP tool now supports mode: "rows" to keep rich text in data source results.

Notion's [latest MCP update](<https://developers.notion.com/page/changelog#september-2-2026>) adds a mode: "rows" option to the notion-query-data-sources tool, which keeps rich text in data source query results. This preserves mentions and link targets that the tool's SQL output can otherwise drop, so agents built on [Notion](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/notion>)'s MCP server can read that context back out of a data source.
