# Return fewer page properties from search

By Steven Van · 2026-10-14

Developers can select properties by name or ID, and search skips any that do not exist on a page.

[Notion](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/notion>) API search requests now accept the filter\_properties query parameter, letting developers return only the page properties they need.

The [search update](<https://developers.notion.com/page/changelog#october-14-2026>) works like filtering properties on data source queries, except that search skips property names or IDs that do not exist on a page.
