# No more tool-specific Notion MCP rate limits

By Steven Van · 2026-10-06

Search and data source query calls share the standard budgets of 600 requests per minute per connection on Business and Enterprise, or 180 otherwise.

Calls to notion-search and notion-query-data-sources now count toward [Notion](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/notion>)'s standard request limits, like other Notion MCP tools. Neither tool has a separate rate limit.

## Shared request budgets

The [request limits documentation](<https://developers.notion.com/reference/request-limits>) sets a per-connection budget of 600 requests per minute for Business and Enterprise workspaces, and 180 for all other plans. Requests can be spread across the 60-second window or sent in a burst.

A separate, plan-based workspace limit is shared across all connections. Calls can therefore be rate limited even when an individual connection stays within its budget. When a request receives an HTTP 429 response, clients should wait for the number of seconds specified by Retry-After before retrying.
