# Longer-lived Notion MCP access tokens

By Steven Van · 2026-07-14

Notion MCP access tokens now last about eight hours, up from one hour.

Access tokens issued through [Notion](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/notion>)'s MCP server now last about eight hours, up from one hour, according to the [changelog](<https://developers.notion.com/page/changelog#july-14-2026>). Clients still need to read the token response's **expires\_in** value rather than assuming a fixed lifetime, but the longer window means fewer refreshes and less chance of a dropped connection if a client's own refresh logic fails.
