# Completing the query tool update in Notion MCP

Notion MCP clients must switch to notion-query-data-sources, passing the same view\_url, or their calls will return a tool error.

The notion-query-database-view tool in [Notion](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/notion>) MCP is [no longer available](<https://developers.notion.com/page/changelog#september-29-2026>). Calls to the old name now return a tool error that names the replacement.

Clients should call notion-query-data-sources instead and pass the same view\_url as {"data": {"mode": "view", "view\_url": "..."}}.
