Notch founders Vinay and Aman Jain are joining OpenAI's Ads team. They announced the move in a post on X and on a [Notch page titled "Notch is joining OpenAI"](<https://x.com/i/status/2110415339959861709>).

## What Notch built

[Notch](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/notch>) made Max, an AI growth marketer that creates and launches Meta and TikTok ads. According to the announcement, Max produced more than 50,000 ads for over 4,300 brands.

## Why they started

The founders say they began two years ago with a bet that agents are the future of advertising. The aim was an agent that could learn a brand, develop ideas, create ads, and help teams test and improve them, with people giving direction and approval. They describe working from a shared understanding of the business, with roles such as a creative strategist, a designer and a performance marketer.

## What happens next

The founders say they will bring what they learned from building Notch to OpenAI. The excerpt of the announcement we have does not say what happens to Max or to existing customers' accounts, so check Notch's own page for any update on the product.
